Pedestrian struck by lorry in Canterbury dies

A pedestrian has died after he was struck by a lorry in Kent.

The man, who was in his late teens, died in hospital following the incident in Link Lane, Canterbury, at about 23:45 BST on Friday.

A 49-year-old lorry driver from Wales was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

Kent Police said he was later released on bail until 6 October pending further inquiries. The road was closed for about five hours after the collision.
