A fire in a 12-storey derelict office building in east Kent is being treated as suspicious.

The blaze broke out just before 19:00 BST on Sunday on the first floor of the building in Townwall Street in Dover.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the building was "smoke logged" and about 60 firefighters were at the scene.

The fire was put out at about 22:40 BST and no-one was injured. The fire service and Kent Police are due to start a full investigation later.

Guests had to be evacuated from a nearby hotel and restaurant while crews tackled the blaze.
