Tunbridge Wells roadworks in Pembury Road begin

Roadworks on one of the major routes into a Kent town are starting and are set to last seven weeks.

Crews are working on the A264 Pembury Road in Tunbridge Wells installing traffic signals required for the Skinners' Kent Academy.

The work is being carried out during school holidays when there is 20% less traffic in the morning rush hour, said Kent County Council.

The Highways Agency said there would be delays at peak times.

Southern Gas Networks and BT Openreach will carry out work at the same time.
