Dartford woman aged 18 dies after car crash

An 18-year-old woman pedestrian injured in an accident with a car in Kent has died in hospital in London.

The woman, from the Dartford area, died on Wednesday in King's College Hospital where she was taken by ambulance after the accident on Friday.

Kent Police said the coroner would release the name of the woman when the inquest opened.

The collision happened in Heath Street, Dartford about 18:30 BST. Heath Street was closed until 00:40 BST on Saturday.

The accident, at the junction with Phoenix Place, involved a silver Mercedes Benz.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward, particularly the driver of a dark-coloured car, possibly a Vauxhall Vectra or Insignia.
