A man has been treated in hospital for facial injuries after an incident described by police in Kent as an unprovoked racially aggravated assault.

The 33-year-old victim was with his wife when a group of youngsters started throwing snowballs at them in Sheepfold Lane, Park Farm, Ashford, on Sunday.

His wife was also assaulted and received minor injuries.

Four boys aged between 16 and 17 were arrested.

Anyone who witnessed the assault at about 14:30 GMT is asked to contact police.
