Arrests after Dartford shooting victim dies

A 32-year-old man found shot in a Kent street has died from his injuries, police said.

The victim was found with bullet wounds in Overy Street, Dartford, on Tuesday.

Kent Police said the man, who has not been formally identified, was taken to hospital where he died. Officers said a firearm was later recovered.

Four people have been arrested; two on suspicion of murder, one on suspicion of murder and firearms offences, and one on suspicion of assault.

Two of the people being held, a 24-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, both from Dartford, are known to the victim, police said.

A witness, who did not want to be named, said she heard two gunshots "in quick succession".

She said: "Members of the public rushed to try and help the man who was bleeding badly."

The road was closed on Wednesday while police investigated the incident, which happened at about 20:00 GMT on Tuesday.
