Illegal Walderslade restaurant workers face deportation

Three men working illegally at a restaurant in Walderslade in Kent face deportation, the UK Border Agency said.

During a raid at Taj Cuisine in Walderslade Road on Saturday, the agency arrested two men, aged 31 and 41, for entering the UK illegally.

A 30-year-old man was held for working in breach of his visa conditions and a fourth man was found working illegally.

The take-away could be fined up to £40,000 unless it can prove pre-employment checks were carried out.

The three arrested men are being held in an immigration detention centre pending their removal from the UK, the agency said.

The fourth man who was escorted from the Indian and Bangladeshi take-away was told he must report regularly to the agency.

He will have his immigration case considered and if he is found to have no right to remain in the UK he will also face removal, the agency said.
