Taxi driver and passenger killed in Knox Bridge crash

A taxi driver and a female passenger sitting in the front of his cab have died in a three-car crash in Kent.

An 18-year-old woman travelling in the back of the taxi was seriously hurt in the collision in Cranbrook Road, Knox Bridge, at about 19:30 GMT on Tuesday.

The drivers of two other cars, a man and a woman, both in their 40s, were treated for minor injuries.

The 63-year-old taxi driver and his 47-year-old passenger were both from the Maidstone area.

Kent Police said the young girl was in a stable condition in a London hospital, but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The crash happened on a section of road that is a continuation of the A229 between Frittenden and Staplehurst.
