Paul Carwithen death: Man admits dangerous driving
A 21-year-old driver has admitted killing a pedestrian in a crash on New Year's Day in Maidstone.
Valdis Labeckis, previously of Old Tovil Road in Maidstone, pleaded guilty to causing the death by dangerous driving of 34-year-old Paul Carwithen.
Mr Carwithen was killed when he was hit by a BMW between Postley Road and Old Tovil Road in the early hours.
Labeckis was remanded in custody at Maidstone Crown Court for sentencing at the same court on 15 March.
A 29-year-old female pedestrian also suffered serious injuries in the crash.
Mr Carwithen, who was originally from Devon, was working for Morrison's supermarket in Maidstone at the time.
