Injured man airlifted from tanker off Kent coast
A man has been winched to safety by a helicopter crew after he was injured on board a tanker in gale-force winds off the Kent coast.
He was hurt when he fell on the Gibraltar-registered tanker Claus, about five miles north-east of Margate.
A Sea King Helicopter from RAF Wattisham rescued the man and flew him to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.
Dover Coastguard described the force-eight gale conditions as "challenging".
