Tributes have been paid to a couple who died in a crash which left their two children injured.

Lindsay Slater, 30, died at the scene and her partner Tom Gregory, 29, died in hospital following the crash in Hoo on Saturday.

Their daughters, Hollie, four and Mae, seven, suffered minor injuries and are being looked after by relatives.

Their family said the deaths of the couple, from Frindsbury in Kent, would "leave huge holes in all our lives".

Mr Gregory was airlifted to a London hospital after the crash on the Ratcliffe Highway, but died the following day.

The Peugeot they were in left the road, hit a road sign and ended up in a field.

In a statement, the couple's relatives said: "Tom and Lindsay will always be remembered by their family and friends as fantastic parents to two beautiful little girls.

"They were a really close couple that will leave huge holes in all our lives.

"We would like to thank all those that have been in contact, offering messages of condolence; it's greatly appreciated during this difficult time."

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the silver Peugeot travelling in the Medway-bound carriageway in the moments before the crash to contact them.
