Two people injured in house fire in Dover

Firefighters have been tackling a large fire at a two-storey house in Dover.

Two people were treated by paramedics after the blaze broke out in Barton Road just before 09:00 GMT.

About 40 firefighters were called to the blaze at its peak. The cause is currently unknown.

A Kent Police spokesman said Barton Road was closed and the force is warning drivers of possible delays in the area.

A number of neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution.
