Jason Wilkes bids to drop daughter death charges

A father accused of killing his 17-year-old daughter after supplying her with the drug MDMA has applied for the charges to be dismissed.

Jason Wilkes is charged with the manslaughter of Chloe Wilkes who died after falling ill at home in Tunbridge Way, Ashford, Kent, on 27 July.

Mr Wilkes, 44, who is also charged with supplying a class A drug, had been expected to enter pleas.

The case was adjourned after the dismissal of charges application.

Maidstone Crown Court remanded him in custody. The next hearing is expected to be during the week beginning 1 December.

An inquest into Chloe's death was opened and adjourned in August.
