Greenhithe boy, 15, facing drink-driving charge

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with drinking and driving after being stopped by police in the early hours in Kent.

The teenager, from Greenhithe, was arrested at 04:10 GMT on Sunday as part of Kent Police's Christmas crackdown on alcohol-related driving offences.

He was charged with theft and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

The boy is due appear at Chatham Youth Court on 6 January.

Kent Police said he was also facing charges of driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

The force said it arrested 32 people, including the boy, for alcohol-related driving offences since the start of December, with 20 of them being charged.
