Four hundred fish in Kent have been tattooed with a blue dye in a scheme to monitor their movements.

The barbel and chub have been released into the River Medway at Barming, near Maidstone.

When caught they will provide data - including their weight and size - to the Environment Agency about stocks and any environmental impacts on them.

Anglers using the river are being asked to phone in with information about the fish once they have been caught.
