River Medway body: Man arrested for manslaughter

A man has been arrested on suspicion of killing a 37-year-old man whose body was found in a Kent river more than a month after he disappeared.

David Leavey, 37 of Frindsbury Road, Rochester, was last seen in New Road, Chatham, on 11 December, when he met up with a friend.

His body was discovered in the River Medway at Cuxton on 20 January.

Kent Police said a 38-year-old man from Rochester was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and bailed until 4 March.
