Model railway firm Hornby is to move to the Discovery Park in Sandwich.

The company, which currently employs about 150 people in Margate, said all staff would be transferred to the new site.

Discovery Park, one of 12 enterprise zones to receive funding from the government, is home to 108 businesses, employing about 2,000 people.

The Hornby group, which was founded in 1901, also owns the Scalextric, Airfix and Corgi brands.

Nick Stone, group finance director, said: "Our current offices were no longer fit for purpose and we considered Discovery Park to have the best office facilities available."

Discovery Park was previously home to pharmaceutical firm Pfizer. It was put up for sale in June 2011 after the company announced it was closing its operations there.
