Medway Council funds £100,000 apprenticeship scheme

A Kent council is to help 100 young people in its area start apprenticeships with local businesses.

Medway Council has pledged £100,000 of support to employers taking on an apprentice for the first time in 2015.

Its campaign, which will run until October, will offer apprenticeships to 18 to 24-year-olds, living in Medway.

"The more local young people we can help get into work the better, and apprenticeships are a great way of learning," said spokesman Robin Cooper.
