Tunbridge Wells doctors face pregnancy death charge

A doctor has been charged with manslaughter after a woman died giving birth by emergency Caesarean.

Frances Cappuccini died at Tunbridge Wells Hospital in October 2012.

Dr Errol Cornish, 67, of Bromley, has been charged with gross negligence manslaughter, while Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust was charged with corporate manslaughter.

Prosecutors said a decision had been made to charge a second man, Dr Nadeem Azeez, with manslaughter.

Kent Police said an international warrant had been issued for the arrest of Dr Azeez, formerly of Chestnut Avenue, Tunbridge Wells. He is believed to have left the country and returned to Pakistan.
