A couple who died in a motorcycle crash in Lancashire were "kind and loving" people, their children have said.

Keith Lowcock, 55, and his 48-year-old wife, Elaine, were riding along the A682, near Gisburn, when the crash happened on Saturday.

Mr Lowcock, who was driving, was declared dead at the scene and his wife died in hospital a short time later.

In a statement, Lindsay and Christopher Lowcock said the couple, from Heywood, had been married for 30 years.

Empty feeling

"No words can truly express this devastating and endless loss of our mother and father," they said in a statement issued through Lancashire Police.

"We feel empty without them and we will feel empty until the day we meet once more.

"Dad was a very positive man, who was very business minded and loved his company.

"He had a love for both photography and motorbikes - having one for most of his life.

"Mum had a love of antiques and collectables along with soul music."

The road was closed for more than four hours on Saturday while investigations were carried out.

Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses.
