Man 'seriously ill' after fight in Barnoldswick
A 21-year-old man is in a serious condition after he was knocked to the floor in a fight in Lancashire.
Police said the man was injured in Barnoldswick town centre sometime between 0030 and 0100 BST on Saturday.
He is currently in a serious condition in the intensive care unit at Leeds General Infirmary.
Two men, a 20-year-old and a 24 year-old, both from the town, were arrested on suspicion of assault and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Lancashire police said they wanted to speak to three women who may have seen what happened.
Det Ch Insp Mark Gray said: "This was a tragic set of circumstances where a young man has sustained a severe head injury which is possibly life threatening.
"We have a large team working on this inquiry and we have interviewed a number of people over the weekend but I would appeal for any other witnesses who may have seen what happened to come forward and contact police."
