From music and fun to arts and events: some suggestions of things to do in Lancashire over the next few weeks.

Family fun

On 5 November, Lancaster City Council will stage its annual free fireworks spectacular on Castle Hill. There are also organised displays in Clitheroe, Blackpool and Witton Park Bonfire 2011 - Show Display in Blackburn, Blackburn - Visit Lancashire.

  • Meet Father Christmas and two of his reindeers at Old Holly Farm in Garstang from 1 December.

Exhibitions and arts

The Old Station, Longridge is staging a free exhibition from 9 to 16 November about the Home Front in Longridge to coincide with Remembrance Sunday.

  • Small Words and Winter Worlds is a new exhibition at the Platform Gallery in Clitheroe from 15 October, featuring crafts in miniature from from metal, wood, textiles and ceramics.
  • Piercing Brightness is an exhibition by Shezad Dawood, which is being premiered at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery until 26 November, before touring internationally and includes textile and sculptural works.
  • The Super Duper Christmas Fair in Blackpool on 19 November will sell handmade things by over 40 craft makers and designers from all over the North West.

Music

Marty Wilde and the Wildcats are performing at the Thwaites Empire Theatre in Blackburn on Thursday on 3 November.

There are two interactive horror experiences in Lancashire for Halloween - Farmaggedon in Downholland from 7 October, and Scare Kingdom at Clayton le Dale from 21 October.
