Arrest over Darwen music shop robbery allegations

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and wasting police time after a probe into allegations of robbery and assaults.

The woman, 40, from Darwen, was held after an alleged knifepoint robbery on the owner of Arietta Music in Darwen in October and assaults were investigated.

The two assaults were alleged to have happened in Bath Street in November and outside the owner's home in January.

A woman was treated for cuts at Royal Blackburn Hospital in all three cases.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "The woman was arrested at an address in the Whitefield area of Manchester and has been released on bail pending further enquiries."

A 29-year-old man from Bolton who was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and assault in November has been released with no further action taken.
