A man has been charged with murdering and conspiring to kidnap a father-of-four in Lancashire.

Paul Brady, 44, from Rochdale in Greater Manchester, was kidnapped in Bacup in August 2009. He has not been seen since and his remains never found.

Michael Dunphy, 38, of no fixed abode, was on an international arrest warrant and detained in Manchester on Monday.

He is due to appear before Burnley magistrates on Tuesday, a spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said.

Last month, Paul Devalda, 35, of Padiham Road in Burnley, was found guilty of conspiracy to kidnap and murdering Mr Brady.

He was jailed for life, with a minimum term of 21 years, at Liverpool Crown Court.
