Man arrested over attack in Blackburn car park

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a man who was found lying in a Blackburn car park four days ago.

Ryan Livesey, from Blackburn, was found in the car park off Paradise Lane just after 2300 BST on Friday, after what police said was a vicious assault.

The 22-year-old was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital where his condition is deteriorating.

A man from Blackburn has been arrested and is currently in police custody.

Lancashire Police are renewing their appeal for any witnesses or anyone with any information about what happened to Mr Livesey to contact them.

Det Supt Neil Esseen from the Force Major Investigation Team said: "We now know that Ryan was assaulted around 11pm on Friday night and was captured walking from the town centre to Paradise Lane with another man prior to his assault.

"We believe it is highly likely that this man is known to Ryan and it is vital that we speak with him and all of Ryan's friends and associates.

"I would therefore urge anybody who knows Ryan or with any information that could assist with our investigation to contact police as soon as possible."
