Boys pulled from sea near Blackpool

Two boys have been rescued after drifting out to sea on an inflatable bed and rubber ring at Blackpool.

The youngsters, aged 11 and 13, were plucked from the water by a crew from Blackpool RNLI on Friday afternoon.

The pair were not hurt but the RNLI said they could have been swept far out to sea.

Paul Parton, from the Blackpool crew, urged parents and their children to take care when using inflatable toys in the water.

"We have got lovely weather at the moment but be very, very careful with inflatables and particularly keep an eye on the wind direction," he added.

"If the wind is blowing off the shore, simply to do not allow young children to go into the water with inflatables."
