Lancashire man rescued from farmhouse blaze

A man from West Lancashire is recovering in hospital after being rescued from a fire at a farmhouse.

Lancashire Fire Service said the fire broke out around 0330 BST, in Lower Lane, Lathom.

It was tackled by firefighters using six breathing apparatus and one hose reel. The man was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

The fire service said the rear lounge of the house was severely damaged in the blaze.
