Lancashire man charged under Terrorism Act in court

A Lancashire man accused of having information about explosives which could be useful in terrorism has appeared at the Old Bailey.

Michael Dobson, 33, of Cambridge Road, Bamber Bridge, was arrested by police in Lancashire in February.

He is charged with six counts of possessing information which may be useful to someone who commits or prepares for an act of terrorism.

Mr Dobson, who was defending himself, was remanded on conditional bail.

The judge, Mr Justice Calvert-Smith, said he was transferring the case for trial in the northern circuit, with a recommendation it goes to Preston Crown Court.
