Man's skull fractured in attack in Blackpool

A man suffered a fractured skull when he was attacked by a group of people in Blackpool, police have said.

The victim was jumped on by five people in George Street shortly after leaving the Tache nightclub at about 0300 BST on Friday.

Police said they believed the group was made up of three men and two women in their 20s.

They attacked him before stealing his iPhone, a spokesman for Lancashire Police said.

Det Con Steve Higgs said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward and contact police.

"It may well be that people may have information that will be of use to this investigation and if so, I am keen to hear from them.

"The victim has suffered some serious injuries including a fractured skull and those people responsible need to be brought to justice."
