Pedestrian killed in crash on A565 near Preston

A pedestrian died when he was hit by a Vauxhall Astra car on a major route into Preston.

Paul Bratin, aged 52, from Southport died at the scene of the crash on the A565 at Tarleton on Sunday at about 1640 BST.

The road was closed for two and half hours while accident investigators gathered evidence.

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
