Driver killed in crash on M6 in Lancashire

A 58-year-old Warrington man was killed when his car burst into flames after crashing into a motorway bridge in Lancashire on Friday.

Lancashire Police said his Renault Megane Scenic hit a bridge barrier, and then ricocheted off the central reservation into the hard shoulder.

The accident took place near junction 29 on the northbound carriageway of the M6 near Bamber Bridge at 20:09 BST.

Firefighters attended the scene but the car was well alight when they arrived.
