Murder arrest after boy stabbed to death in Haslingden

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Lancashire.

Police were called to a house on Princess Street, Haslingden, at 05:45 BST where they found a boy with a number of stab wounds.

The boy, named as Declan Eastwood from Haslingden, was pronounced dead at Royal Blackburn Hospital shortly after.

A 24-year-old man from Haslingden was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out later.

Police have asked anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
