Lancaster couple charged over baby death

A couple from Lancaster have been charged with the murder of a four-month-old baby boy.

The child was found collapsed at his home in Scotforth, Lancaster, last November, and died of a bleed to the brain several days later in hospital.

Christopher Roberts and Karen Irvine, 18, originally from Penrith, Cumbria, are charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.

They will appear at Lancaster Magistrates' Court on 11 August.
