Couple bailed over death of baby in Lancashire

Two teenagers have appeared in court charged with the murder of a baby boy in Lancashire.

Christopher Roberts and Karen Irvine, 18, of Penrith, are also charged with causing or allowing a child's death.

The baby was taken to hospital last November after he was found collapsed in the Scotforth area of Lancaster. He died a few days later.

The couple were granted conditional bail at Preston Crown Court, and must return for a hearing on 14 November.

A provisional trial date was set for 12 March next year.
