Robert Davies named as driver in fatal crash on M58

A man found dead in his car after apparently careering off the M58 motorway has been named.

Robert Davies, 26, from Formby, was pronounced dead at the scene close to Junction 3, at 02:30 BST on 11 August.

The car, a black Peugeot 308, had apparently left the carriageway, gone down an embankment and crashed through a fence before rolling several times.

Police believe no other vehicles were involved and have asked anyone with information to contact them.
