Man charged over Blackpool bank robbery

A man has been charged following an armed robbery at a bank in Blackpool, police said.

The Royal Bank of Scotland, on Red Bank Road, was held up at 14:00 BST on 8 August.

A gunman got away with cash and ran off towards the promenade, down Hesketh Avenue and past the Highlands Hotel.

A 25-year-old man from Manchester, who was arrested on Thursday, has been charged with robbery and possession of a firearm.

He is due to appear before Blackpool Magistrates Court' on Saturday.
