Motorcyclist who died in Poulton crash named by police

A motorcyclist who died after his bike was in a crash with a car in Poulton, Lancashire, has been named by police.

The crash involving a Ford Focus happened on Blackpool Old Road near Belmont Avenue at 17:30 BST on Monday.

Brian McOwen, 53, was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the car was not injured but was treated for shock. The road was closed for two hours to allow accident investigators to examine the scene.
