Four Penwortham schools damaged by vandals

Four Lancashire schools have been damaged by vandals, causing damage put at about £4,000.

Windows were smashed at All Hallows High School, Priory High School and Howick Primary School, in Penwortham.

Two lighting units and the school sign were damaged at Penwortham Girls High School.

Lancashire Constabulary is appealing to anyone with information on the vandalism, carried out between 23 and 25 August, to contact them.

PC Kevin Bond, community beat manager for Penwortham, said: "This is mindless damage, the cost of which directly affects both the schools and the local community.

"Pupils who are about to return to school or start a new school are the victims in this.

"I am asking for people to come forward if they have any information that may lead to the identification of the people responsible."
