Woman sexually assaulted in Blackpool alleyway

A woman was pulled into an alleyway in Blackpool and sexually assaulted by a man, police have said.

The 38-year-old was walking along Deansgate on 25 August when she was grabbed and dragged into the alley.

The man offered her jewellery in exchange for sex, but when the woman refused he attacked her.

The man saw three or four other women sitting in the alleyway and pulled the woman back on to the street and she managed to escape.

Lancashire Constabulary said the man was aged about 45, about 5ft 5in (1.65m) tall and stocky with a shaven head.

He spoke with broken English and was wearing a blue shirt and a distinctive long gold chain with a large eagle pendant.

Anybody with information is asked to call police.

Officers particularly want to trace the women who were sitting in the alleyway as they may be able to provide crucial information, the force said.
