Teenage girl sexually assaulted in St Annes

Police are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl in Lancashire.

The girl was walking along St David's Road South, St Annes, between 11:45 BST and 12:30 BST on Thursday.

She was then approached by a man who subjected her to a sexual assault.

The man is described as white, in his early 20s and had fair, spiky hair. He is said to have a distinctive tattoo on his inner right forearm.

He was wearing blue shorts with a bright yellow T-shirt and white socks and trainers.

Det Insp Andy Unsworth said: "This would have been a very busy time of day and I am confident somebody must have seen something.

"If you were in the area around lunchtime on Thursday and you saw a man matching the description or saw any other suspicious activity then I would ask you to contact police."
