Three arrested over man's murder in Colne

Police have arrested three people and are appealing for information following the discovery of a man's body in Colne.

Lancashire Police found the man, said to be in his mid to late 40s, at an address on Portland Street on Monday.

Post-mortem tests showed he died from multiple head and chest injuries.

A 40-year-old man from Colne, a 49-year-old woman from Colne and a 34-year-old woman from Padiham have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody.

Det Ch Insp Mark Gray, who is leading the investigation, said: "If anybody has any information which they believe could help with our enquiries I would ask them to contact police.

"In particular, if anybody has noticed anything out of place or unusual in the Portland Street area over the past couple of days then I would also like to hear from them as we look to progress the investigation."
