Two accused of murdering Steven Sheppard in Colne

Two people have been charged with the murder of a man who was found dead at a house in east Lancashire.

Steven Sheppard, 47, was found at a property in Portland Street, Colne, on Monday. Post-mortem tests found he died from head and chest injuries.

A 40-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman have been charged with his murder and are due to appear before Burnley magistrates on Friday.

A second woman, aged 49, has been released without charge.

Mr Sheppard's family described him as a "loving father, son and brother".

They added: "Steven was a very sociable and loveable person to all who knew him.

"He enjoyed driving and particularly enjoyed the outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family."
