Man charged over attempted murder of woman in Bamber Bridge

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a 42-year-old woman was stabbed in Lancashire.

Police said the woman was stabbed off Brownedge Road, close to the roundabout near the A6 at Bamber Bridge, at about midday on Thursday.

She suffered serious injuries to her arms and chest and was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital, where she is said to be in a stable condition.

A 41-year-old man from Bamber Bridge was charged on Friday.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Preston Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
