Skelmersdale armed robbers threaten shop customers

An armed robber pointed a gun at two customers in a shop before taking cash from the till in Lancashire.

The man walked into the K & H Hives store in Tanfield, Skelmersdale, at about 20:45 GMT on Sunday.

Police said he threatened the customers and demanded money from the shop assistant, who then gave him the cash.

The robber, who is described as stocky, about 6ft tall (1.8m) and dark skinned, then left the shop and ran off towards Willow Hey.

Detectives said he was wearing a dark-coloured jacket and trousers, a hooded top and had his face covered.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
