Two men abducted from their car in Blackburn

Two men were dragged from their car and bundled into another before they were driven around Lancashire and assaulted.

Police said the men, aged 19 and 20, were in a silver Honda Accord, parked on Sandwich Close in Blackburn, at about 21:00 GMT on Friday.

Two cars pulled up beside them and two men got out, dragged the men out of their car and handcuffed them.

They were forced into one of the cars and assaulted several times, before being let out on Shadsworth Road.

Police said while in the car, a silver Vauxhall Meriva, they were driven around Blackburn, Haslingden and Rochdale for about two hours.

They suffered bruising and were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries but later released.

Officers are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.

Det Insp Jill Johnston, who is leading the investigation, said: "This must have been a terrifying ordeal for the victims and although not seriously injured they have been left traumatised by what has happened.

"I would appeal for any witnesses or anyone who knows anything about what happened to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency."

Two 18-year-old men from the Manchester area have been arrested in connection with the incident.

One man has been released on bail pending further enquiries and the second man remains in custody and is helping police with their enquiries.
