Three schoolchildren have been treated for minor injuries after the double-decker bus they were travelling in crashed into a Lancashire bridal shop.

The bus hit the corner of Te Amo Boutique Weddings on Accrington Road, Whalley, at about 15:30 BST.

Police said three boys were treated at a nearby doctor's surgery, but did not require hospital treatment.

The owner of the shop, which was closed at the time, said it had suffered slight damage to a corner wall.

'Sign splintered'

Francine Shaw said: "We only opened five months ago, so obviously nothing like this has happened to us before.

"We are on the corner next to a very small roundabout and it is very tight along there for buses.

"Our sign is splintered as well as the corner damage and there is a lot of glass about, but that came from the bus.

"I'm just glad we were closed."

Police said that the scale of the collision did not warrant an investigation.
