Chorley holiday company Cruise 118 plans 200 new jobs

A Lancashire-based travel company is planning to create up to 200 jobs in the next 12 months.

Cruise 118, which specialises in holidays on cruise liners, employs 85 people at its head office in Chorley.

General manager Grenville Cartledge said the demand for cruise holidays was "booming".

He said: "The travel industry itself has suffered in recent times but year on year the cruise industry is growing in spite of the economic conditions."

He added: "We are seeing huge growth."

Marketing manager Sam Hall said cruise holidays were "no longer appealing just to the older market".

The company is looking to expand locally initially but hopes to expand nationally through a network of franchises.
