Police make raids in Lancashire and Greater Manchester
Police have made a number of arrests in a series of drugs raids on houses in Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
Officers executed warrants on addresses in Poulton, Blackpool, Sale, Partington, Irlam and Salford following an investigation into the cocaine supply chain across the counties.
Six men and two woman were arrested on a suspicion of conspiracy to supply cocaine.
One of the women was also arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
Lancashire Police's Det Insp Graham Gallagher said that "crime levels in Lancashire are low and it is our firm intention to ensure they remain that way - as today's activity shows.
"Serious and organised crime affects everyone; ruining lives, driving other crime and instilling fear in our communities."
He added: "As always, it is incredibly important that people continue to provide the police with information so that we can keep them safe and look for ways to prevent organised crime groups from operating in the future."
