Teenager arrested after man is shot in leg in Preston

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot in the legs in Preston.

The 23-year-old was shot at about 23:15 GMT on Thursday on Bowness Road near to Brockholes Wood.

He is being treated at the Royal Preston Hospital for minor gunshot pellet wounds to his legs.

The teenager was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the Ribbleton area earlier. Police urged any witnesses to come forward.

Det Chief Insp Andrea Barrow from Lancashire Police said: "An investigation is under way into the circumstances of exactly what has happened.

"I would urge anybody that witnessed anything suspicious in the Brockholes area on Tuesday night or with any information that could assist with our inquiry to come forward."
