Lytham woman Nicola Raybone found dead on Antigua beach

A 33-year-old woman from Lancashire has been found dead on a beach in the Caribbean.

Nicola Raybone, from Lytham, had flown out to the island of Antigua on Thursday.

It is believed she landed on the island on a British Airways flight that day at about 16:00 GMT.

Ms Raybone - whose death is not being treated as murder - was discovered at high tide, when the sea was "relatively rough", police said.

Senior Sgt William Holder, of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, said "She spent some time with friends in the hotel complex and, at around 7pm, her friends went into the dining room, leaving her in an area where there were other guests around.

"Her friends returned within 15 minutes and she wasn't there.

"They went looking for her, they couldn't find her and so they called security and the police."

A Foreign Office spokesman said officials were in touch with authorities in Antigua and were providing consular assistance.
